Value added

Tyler Cowen was excited to get The Economist hand-delivered. Like a newspaper.

Now, I don’t have a porch. Or a vestibule. So for me, hand-delivery has meant instead of finding The Economist tucked safely inside my (notably dry) mailbox on Monday, I instead arrived home on Friday to discover that my copy had been neatly placed atop said mailbox and promptly converted to unreadable glossy mush by heavy rain.

I guess my value added by hand-delivery so far is the opposite of the cost of an issue. Huh. At least no one stole it, I guess (this time).
